The Dashboard displays page creation wizards in the Create New area. These wizards, which are based on page creation rules, provide users with a simple way to create new pages.
Important: Do not include the following characters in folder, page, component, or asset names: commas (,), forward slashes (/), backslashes (\), question marks (?), exclamation marks (!), at symbols (@), pound signs (#), dollar signs ($), percent signs (%), carets (^), ampersands (&), asterisks (*), semicolons (;), single quotation marks ('), and double quotation marks ("). Even though the CMS will allow users to save these characters in content item names, they should not be used, as they could cause web address/link issues.
To Create a New Page:
- From the Dashboard, click on the Create New button.
- You'll see a list of options (also know as page creation rules) listed alphabetically. Click Page.
- A dialog box comes up so that you may name your page. Enter your page name in the Name field, then click Create.
PLEASE NOTE: Please use a shorten name (or if applicable an acronym) when naming your page. The page name is what creates your actual URL/HTML link. For example, the Page name should be MSU (which would create a link www.morgan.edu/msu.html), and in the Title field of the page you can place its full name, Morgan State University. - A dialog box will appear, where you should see your unit's home page. You should then be able to expand the site tree in order to select where you would like to place this new page.
Once you've clicked on the page or folder that you would like the new page to be placed under, click Ok.
